ZK-ATB de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger
Moth
(c/n 3639)
ZK-ATB was a pre-war Tiger built in 1937 as
ZK-AFZ for the Wellington Aero Club. It was
impressed into service as NZ702,
and not civilianized again until 1949. At that time it was
allocated
(free) to the
Tauranga Aero Club of Taieri, where a canopy was fitted. It is
seen above whilst in the
service of that
club. ZK-ATB crashed near Opotiki on 21 November 1953
and was written off.
