ZK-ARI   de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth        (c/n  DHNZ71)

                                    

                                           This New Zealand built Tiger was NZ821 with the RNZAF.   After the war it was sold to
                                           Aircraft Service Ltd of Wigram in 1947.   It was then sold to F. McKeever of Onehunga
                                           after overhaul by Aircraft Service and used as company hack during 1948-1949 with the
                                           titling "Monkey Airways" on the cowling.   The above shot shows it in those days.  It went
                                           then to Auckland Aviation Services as a topdresser in 1950.    It was restored as a two
                                           seat training aircraft in 1956 but crashed at Waimaramara on 2 February 1957 killing the
                                           pilot Euan Bowman. The aircraft was totally destroyed.
