ZK-AQG  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth          (c/n  3936)

By the time I took this shot at Christchurch in late 1950, ZK-AQG had ben purchased by Aerial
Sowing Canterbury Ltd and converted to a topdresser.  This aircraft was an original pre-war
Hatfield built machine imported in 1939 for the Middle Districts Aero Club as ZK-AHG.  It was
impressed into the RNZAF in October of that year as NZ705.  After the war it was sold to Mr.
                                       M. Youngman of Christchurch who sold it to the topdressing concern, which itself was taken over
by Auster Air Services Ltd in 1951.  ZK-AQG crashed in Tolaga Bay whilst in the employ of East
Coast Air Services of Gisborne in 1954.  The pilot was seriously injured, and the aircraft was
                                       written off.
