ZK-AQB de Havilland D.H.83C Fox Moth
(c/n FM.49)
Two
views of this Canadian built (post WW II) Fox Moth. The
upper one in 1949 and lower
in the early 1950s
when it was either in vogue (or possibly mandatory) that the rego be
moved
to the
tail. The oil slicked foreground in the former shot
somewhat detracts from the contrast.
Note Ercoupe ZK-AQX under the nose of the Fox Moth. Both were
owned and operated by
the Aucklamd
Aero Club. ZK-AQB is currently with the Croydon Aircraft
Company at
Mandeville under
restoration to airworthiness. It is, in fact, just about
completed, requiring
minor detail work
only. Contemporary photo, someone?
