ZK-AOL de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n 3629)

More intrepid
airmen. This machine was registered to the New Plymouth Aero Club
when this
1950 shot was taken. ZK-AOL
was actually a pre-war Hatfield.built Tiger which went to New
Zealand in 1937 as ZK-AFN for the Auckland Aero
Club. It, (along with ZK-AFO), was actually
the first
Tiger in New Zealand. After its impressment as NZ719 it went to New
Plymouth in 1947.
Following a crash at
Mangere in 1959 parts of it were used in the rebuild of ZK-BRB (NZ1459).
