ZK-BDG de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA875/T196)
ZK-BDG was an ex-Australian Tiger which had
been damaged in Goroka, New Guinea
in 1948 then eventually shipped to New Zealand and rebuilt in 1953 as a
topdresser/seeder
for
Aircraft Service NZ Ltd of Auckland, becoming their flett number
11. Its previous identities
were A17-458 and
VH-BDR. It was
withdrawn from use in 1961 and reduced to spares.
Parts of it
were used in the restoration of
ZK-AUT. Despite the missing bits and pieces it is
reputed
to be the subject of yet another restoration project at Matamata.
