ZK-BAD de
havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n 84648)
ZK-BAD among a
plethora of other Tigers at Wairoa in 1953. It was operated at the
time by Air Super Ltd. This
Tiger was imported from the U.K. and was previously
assigned the
registration G-AMNF although it is doubtful it was ever civilianized
fully
in the U.K., being shipped out to
New Zealand soon after it became available in late
1951. Oddly, this machine
has been preserved and is now on static display in the
Museum of Transport & Technology in
Auckland, where it is masquerading as an
ex RNZAF aircraft (which it was not).
