ZK-ALY  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth                  (c/n  82510)

This machine came from ex-RAF stocks, being built as N9456.  Assembled in New Zealand,
it  became NZ851 with the RNZAF.  In 1946, as surplus, it was sold to the NZ Insurance
Company at Wigram on behalf of Hawkes Bay and East Coast Aero Club to replace ZK-AJD
which had crashed in October 1946.  This rough image shows it in service with that club.
ZK-ALY cashed at Napier on 28 November 1954 and was written off.
