ZK-ALI  Lockheed 10A Electra                    (c/n  1108)

                                 

                                        This aircraft was the former Guinea Airways' VH-AAU,  imported into Australia in 1937.  It
                                        was sold to Union Airways, along with ZK-ALH in 1946, and named 'Koweka'.   Although
                                        its last flight with NZNAC occurred in 1949, it languished in storage in New Plymouth until
                                        1961 when it was, incredulously, scrapped.   I would have thought that, even in 1961 a buyer
                                        could have been found for it in the USA.
