ZK-AJC de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n 83463)
This shot was
taken at an air show in Nelson in 1957. Note Dragon ZK-AXI.
The other
Tiger is recently-demobbed ZK-BLG
(ex NZ1461). ZK-AJC was operated by the Otago
Aero Club when civilianized in 1946, although the above image shows it
as a topdresser with
Southland Aerial Fertilising Company/Hewett Aviation. By that
time it had been converted to
a
single-seater. It went to Southern Aviation Ltd, of Gore in early
1962. Withdrawn from use
at Mossburn later that year. Reported to be stored at
Invercargill during the 1970s. Now
believed to be in store at
Mandeville.
