ZK-AIN de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHNZ25)
Here's a line-up of Auckland Aero Club Tigers, headed by ZK-AIN in
1949. The others
are ZK-AIF, -ARZ,
-AIS and -AIA. ZK-AIN was formerly the
RNZAF's NZ775.
It was sold to the Auckland
Aero Club in 1946. It went to Barr Brothers in 1952 and was
converted to a
topdresser. The third image on this page (at very bottom)
shows it in this
guise. This is a James
D. Dyson, via David Molesworth collection shot. After
being cancelled
from the register in 1965 it was
rebuilt using some parts from ZK-BJH and
presented to the
Museum of Transport and Technology
in Auckland. It is currently
on loan to Waikato Farming
Museum in Hamilton. My shot
immediately below was taken in the early 1950s
whilst it was
still with the Auckland Aero Club
