ZK-AAT de
Havilland D.H.60G Moth
(c/n 1132)
A rather ignomious beginning to my collection
of New Zealand registered aircraft. This Moth
was
exported in 1929. It was written off when it spun in at Mangere
on 12 March 1938. Now,
clearly
the damage to the accident above was not that severe. In fact
this looks like it was either
blown
over by the the wind, or upended when the undercarriage hit a
furrow. (Note very little
damage to
the fin and rudder). Date and venue of this image
unknown.
