VH-USR  Cierva C.30A Autogiro                          (c/n 792)

Here's the second of the Cierva C.30As imported into Australia in the mid 1930s.
VH-USR was registered to Andrew Thyne Reid, a notable Australian engineer.
                                    He flew
it fairly regularly between his country property near Yass, NSW and
                                    Sydney's Mascot
Airport until his death in 1949.  The aircraft was officially struck
                                    off the register in 1951.
This machine is displayed in a fully restored condition at
                                    the Powerhouse Museum in
Sydney.  Phil Vabre's nice shot of it there (below) was
                                    taken in August 2013.
