VH-UEM  de Havilland D.H. 50A  (c/n 128)

                                  
                                                          
                            Here's an oldie.  This aircraft was imported in 1924 for WA Airways.  The rare shot above from
                            the Geoff Goodall collection shows it just after its arrival from the UK.  Founder of West Australian
                            Airways Norman Brearley is standing on the left.   In the lower shot it has been re-registered VH-UEM
                            and is seen outside West Australian Airways hanger in 1930.  Note D.H. 66 Hercules G-AUJQ in the
                            background.   VH-UEM lasted until 1940 when it hit high tension power lines at Coode Island, Victoria
                            on 29 January of that year, crashed and was totally destroyed by fire.
