VH-UZL  de Havilland D.H.83 Fox Moth                        (c/n  4064)

                                 

                                     First registered in May 1937, this Fox Moth was ex G-ACED.  First Australian owner was
                                     Light Aeroplanes Pty Ltd of Brisbane.  The above shot, courtesy of the John Oxley Library,
                                     State Library of Queensland collection was probably taken at Archerfield, circa 1937.  In
                                     November 1938 it was sold to Guinea Airways when Light Aeroplanes folded. and departed
                                     for the namdate the following month.   VH-UZL was one of the aircraft destroyed in a Japan-
                                     ese strafing attack on Lae Airport on on 21 Janaury 1942.
