VH-USK de Havilland D.H.85 Leopard Moth
(c/n 7084)
The above shot was taken by Nev
French (via Grahame Higgs) at Murwillumbah in May 2009.
This superb
restoration was done by Nick and Greg Challinor's Mothcair
Aviation using parts
(and carefully patterned reworked wood sections) from the original -USK
which crashed at
Cunnamulla, Queensland in 1951 and
was "written off", and one other similar machine.
VH-USK was
first registered in December 1934 to J.J. Thorpe of Armadale, WA,
It was
owned by the Beresford family of Cunnamulla during
and immediately after WW II.
It is niow (2017) based at
Recliffe, Qld with Antique Airways who use it on joy flights.
