VH-UGB     Curtiss JN-4D Jenny                                     (c/n 2885)

Rare shot, via Ben Dannecker, of a Curtiss Jenny, taken at Sydney, circa 1930.   G-AUGB was
registered to F.T. O'Dea in August of 1927.    It was sold to H.W. Ross of Croydon, NSW in
February 1928 who had a 200 hp Hispano-Suiza Viper engine installed.   In March 1930 it went
to R. Cox of Coogee NSW.  By October 1932 it was in the ownership of S.G. Masterman and
based at Tulagi in the Solomon Islands.   Clearly the hostile climatic conditions of this tropical
locale were too much for the poor old Jenny, since DCA refused to issue a new C of A when
Masterman applied for it in 1934.    Presumably it was broken up.
