VH-UJL  de Havilland D.H.60G Gipsy Moth            (c/n 985)

                               

                                    
The above image is courtesy of the Burren Junction Public School photographic collection.  The
                                     shot appears to have been taken when the aircraft landed in, or close to, the main street.      The
                                     Moth was owned, at the time, by C.W. Lamph of Fairholme via Warren, NSW, but just why it
                                     wound up in that juxtaposition is not known. The school also provided another Moth (VH-ULY)
                                     taken at the same venue.   Since the Moth is registered VH- it would appear that the photo was
                                     taken some time after August 1930 but clearly before it was damaged by a storm at Walgett,
                                     NSW on 27 April 1931 and written off.
  It appears as G-AUJL (below) in the same photo I use
                                     for G-AUJI from the collection of the State Library of New South Wales. .  Note both Moths
                                     with wings folded on that occasion.  .
