G-AUIP  de Havilland D.H.60G Gipsy Moth                     (c/n   892)


                                           Very poor image extracted (by Graeme Parsons) from the Sydney Morning Herald of
                                           2 February 1929 depicting "a new gipsy moth (sic) which arrived at Mascot aerodrome
                                           from Melbourne yesterday.  The machine will be used for private business".     G-AUIP
                                           was actually first registered on 25 January 1929 to Matthews Aviation of Essendon . It
                                           was sold to H. Heavener and Co of Sydney.   By 31 August 1930 the rego had been
                                           changed to VH-UIP.   In August 1931 (the month of my birth) it was sold to Downs Air
                                           Services of Toowoomba, Queensland, and was written off when it crashed at Pittworth,
                                           Qld on 8 April 1932.
