G-AUIJ  de Havilland D.H.60G Gipsy Moth               (c/n  824)

                                    

                                        Here are three very nice shots taken by owner Charlie Pratt, (a WW1 pilot) at his home base at
                                        Belmont Common, Geelong (above and below from the  John Hopton collection, and foot of the
                                        page after being repainted in its RAAF serial from the Kevin O'Reilly collection).).   The upper
                                        image was circa 1929 and the lower sometime after August of 1930 when it was re-registered
                                        VH-UIJ    This Moth was registered to Charlie in January of 1929.      It remained in the Pratt
                                        family until it was impressed into service with the RAAF in July 1940 when it became A7-110.
                                        as seen in Charlie's rare shot below.   Sadly, VH-UIJ did not survive the war.
