G-AUDB     Boulton & Paul P.9                                         (c/n unknown)

                              

                                   Four Boulton & Paul P.9s were sent to Australia, including the prototype, which went to a Mr.
                                   A.L. Long for use on his sheep station. Production aircraft differed in that they had a compart-
                                   ment behind the cockpit to carry two specially built suitcases, seen clearly here in this rare shot
                                   from the Bill Waterton collection (via the CAHS).   G-AUDB was owned by C.C. Matheson
                                   and L. Bacon, trading as Victorian Flying Services.  Its Certificate of Registration was never
                                   officially taken up and, in the event, the aircraft crashed at Briagolong, Victoria on June 11, 1921
                                   and was destroyed in the resultant fire.  The actual painting of the G-AU regos came later around
                                   1922.  .
