VH-WLB Auster J/1 Autocrat
(c/n 2155)

This was the former VH-AYO (2),
first registered in Australia (ex G-AIBT) in January
1952. It was
re-registered VH-WLB in May of 1957. Mike Vincent's photo (above,
via
Geoff Goodall) shows it at Bungendore, NSW in December 1973, where it
was a
hard worked, paint-peeling glider tug.
Withdrawn from use in 1975, it was restored
fifteen years later and is now flying
from Taree, NSW
