VH-WAJ Auster Mk
III
(c/n 330)

Originally built (in 1942)
as MZ218, this Auster went to the RAAF as A11-42 before being
civilianized for the Wimmera Aero Club in 1959
as VH-WAJ. Bob Neate's photo above was
taken at Warracknabeal, Vic in November 1960.
The aircraft was damaged by a storm at
Capella, Qld in 1974 and
withdrawn from use. It was restored in the 1990s as VH-DCU and,
as
such, is still flying.
