VH-UTU Bell
47D-1
(c/n 20)

Nice airborne study by Greg Banfield of a
very early Bell helicopter whilst in the service of
Helicopter Utilities Pty Ltd at
Bankstown on 23 June 1966. This machine was built in 1947
as a
Model 47-B registered NC100B and was another of those which went to New
Zealand
before being re-exported to
Australia. VH-UTU was ex ZK-HAJ. It was stricken
from the
Australian register in October
1989 as being "damaged beyond repair". However, it was in
fact, shipped back to the US, rebuilt and re-registered N415DP in
September 1990.
