VH-UQI  Morane Saulnier MS-893A Rallye Commodore            (c/n   10962)

                                  

                                        The MS-893 was originally designed for agricultural use but, as the 893A was developed into
                                        a touring machine.  Not quite as powerful as the deluxe Rallye Minerva, the Commodore had a
                                        180 hp Lycoming O-360-A2A up front.  The above shot, by Geoff Goodall, was taken at Perth's
                                        GA airport at Jandakot in October 1969, just after it had been first registered   VH-UQI is still
                                        flying and is currently registered to an owner in the Narrandera area of NSW.   Phil Vabre took
                                        the image (below) of it at that locale during the 2006 AAAA Fly-In.
