VH-TNE  Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee C                  (c/n  25-4266)

                                   

                                        This late model Pawnee C was at Bankstown in August 1976 when the above photo was taken
                                        by Mike Madden.   It was one of the large fleet of Pawnees used on cotton spraying by Nicholson
                                        Air Service at Wee Waa NSW.  It was first registered 3 August 1967 in the company's VH-TN
                                        registration block for their founder Tom Nicholson, and had just been traded in on new model
                                        PA-36 Pawnee Brave.  Nicholson had flown a Percival Proctor from England in 1954 for resale
                                        to finance a Tiger Moth cropspraying business at Kingaroy Qld.    Today it tows gliders at the
                                        Bathurst Soaring Club.
