VH-RKA    Auster III                      (c/n   531)

                                       

                                              This old Auster was getting a wash when photographed by David Johnson at Rockhampton in                                          
                                              1962.  This image is courtesy of the Brian Baker collection.   This Auster was built for the RAF
                                              as MT450 and served with the RAAF as A11-47 before being declared surplus. It was originally
                                              to have been civilly registered VH-WAK but this was not taken up, and it became VH-RKA
                                              instead..  This machine is still flying and a contemporary image of it can be found at
