VH-PIJ  Piper PA-25 Pawnee 235/A1               (c/n   25-2218)

                                  

                                         The first issuance of VH-PI seies were just about all PIper products.   This Pawnee was photo-
                                         graphed at Blythe, SA by Geoff Goodall in October 1963.  It was a long way from home, being
                                         owned, at the time, by Hazair Pty Ltd of Orange, NSW.   When its aggie duties were over it was
                                         fitted with a more powerful 250 hp engine and a razor-back fairing and used as a glider tug, as
                                         seen in the shot below taken by Greg Banfield at Camden, NSW in August 1995.   This 1962
                                         model is still current, and registered to a private owner in NSW.
