VH-PGD  Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six                      (c/n  32-40896)

                             

                                 When introduced in 1964, the Cherokee Six was a sufficiently different design from the smaller
                                 Cherokee as to warrant a new model number.  This one had the 300 hp Lycoming IO-540-K
                                 engine up front, giving appreciably better performance than the original 260 hp powered variants.
                                 Ian McDonell took the photo of -PGD above at Toowoomba in May 2008.  It was first registered
                                 in November 1970.
