VH-KMR  Cessna 172G Skyhawk                                        (c.n 17253505)

Registered to Navair at Bankstown in July 1966, VH-KMR had been VH-PLY for the previous
three months after being assembled by Cessna agent Rex Aviation.   By 1969, the Skyhawk had
been disposed of and was photographed by David Carter at Moorabbin joyriding on a Sunday
afternoon while a brass band, left background, entertained airport visitors.  The fuselage position-
ed registration was non standard, but looks quite attractive.   The 1976 register showed it owned
by a Melbourne road transport company.   –KMR was destroyed in a crash at Paisley Well North,
South Australia, when soon after take-off it descended into trees.        The three occupants were
                                      injured.
