VH-INJ Bristol 170 Freighter
'Pokana'
( c/n 12755)

In 1949 Australian National purchased three Bristol 170 Freighters new
from the manufacturer.
This, the first one, formerly
G-AICL, was actually leased (to see how they liked it) from November
of 1948 to March of 1949,
before posting it to the asset register. The aircraft was
repainted in
Ansett-ANA livery after the
1958 take-over as the lower shot, by Richard Maclean, taken at
Essendon in 1960,
shows. VH-INJ was scrapped in 1961.
