VH-FWX    Beech 95-B55 baron                            (c/n TC-1155)

                                                                            
 
                                        Barons were quite popular in Australia.     This one was flown out as N7649N and registered
                                        VH-FWX in November 1968 to a J.M. Simpson of Adelaide who was still the registered owner
                                        in 1976.     When David Carter caught up with it at Bankstown in January 1970 it had just com-
                                        pleted the London to Sydney air race as entry number 36 and named “Spirit of Alice Springs”.
                                        The tail was marked Elizabethan Air Charter,  a Parafield-based operator.     Elizabethan came
                                        from the nearby suburb of Elizabeth.   –FWX was reregistered VH-IHZ in October 2002 and
                                        in September 2016 was being operated by Horizon Airways out of Mackay.
