VH-FNM Fokker
F-27 Friendship 200
(c/n
10292)

Originally delivered in 1966 to
Ansett-ANA, this aircraft was under lease to subsidiary Ansett-
MAL (Mandated Airlines) by the time Barry Maclean took this shot at
Essendon in 1967. It
was operated for a while by Ansett Airlines of PNG, but when Air
Niugini took over those
services
it returned to Ansett Airlines of Australia. After a spell with
Bush Pilots Airways* it
passed to Air Queensland in 1985. Like its sister
VH-FNG
(which was, at the time, in Brazil)
it wound
up with Pakistan International Airlines in 1988 becoming AP-BDB.
It was withdrawn
from
use in 2006 and may have later been used as part payment for PIA's new
Boeing 777s
winding up with Cayman Islands registrations.
