VH-FBR  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth                     (c/n   DHA1000)

                               

                                    A17-565 was the 1000th Australian-built Tiger Moth.  A war-time shot of it appears at the foot
                                    of the page below.  It was not civilianized until 1958.       Geoff Goodall took this shot above at
                                    Bathurst, NSW in September of 1969.  Greg Banfield's nice color shot below was taken at the
                                    same locale, albeit somewhat earlier in February 1966.  -FBR was cancelled from the register in
                                   1969 and sold in the USA as N17565    In 1974 it left the USA and went to the UK to become
                                   G-BCRD.   At that time it acquired a Canadian-style canopy.   In August of 1979 was sold in
                                   Switzerland  as HB-UPP and has currently been restored (sans canopy) in what appears to be
                                   an RAF training type yellow/amouflage livery.
