VH-ERG  Mooneu M.20G Stateman                                     (c/n  690009)

Formerly N9133V, VH-ERG was the ninth Mooney Statesman and the only one of the 190 built
to grace the Australian civil register.       The M20G combined the stretched fuselage of the M20F
with the smaller 180hp engine of the M20C.  -ERG was registered in November 1969 and photo-
graphed by David Carter at Bankstown on December 19, 1970.            In 1976 it was owned by
Kinnane’s Furniture Discounts, who repainted it the style of the latest Mooneys  for the Benson
and Hedges Trans-Australia air race in October that year.    The colors chosen were those of Pye,
a manufacturer of radios and TVs, and the sponsor of the Kinnane entry.    VH-ERG was current
in August 2016 and operated out of Moorabbin by Stan Van de Wiel, who once owned Schutt
                                    Aviation.
