VH-EQD  Piper PA-23-250 Aztec                          (c/n  27-2686)

                              

                                  This 1964 Aztec was not registered in Australia until 1969, being ex N5580Y.  It was used for a
                                  while by Coastal Airways of Cairns but is now owned by Conwal and Associates.  Ian McDonell
                                  shot the above image at Redcliff, Queensland in February 2009. When the PA-23-250 was intro-
                                  duced it was originally to have been given a new PA number, namely the PA-27.  This decision was
                                  later abandoned in favor of making the Aztec the PA-23-250, but this is why Aztec msns are in the
                                  27- range.
