VH-ECF  Hawker Siddeley HS.125.3B                    (c/n  25069)

                                    
                                      
                                           Sister ship to VH-ECE this HS.125 was delivered in early July of 1966.    Peter Hough saw it at
                                           Essendon in 1968 (above), whilst Greg Banfield's B&W photo below was taken at Mascot in
                                           October1971.  It won the Executive Jet Class Award in the January 1970 BP England-Australia
                                           Air Race, completing the flight from Gatwick to Adelaide in 27 1/2 hours.  It was used by Qantas
                                           as a crew trainer until September 1972 after which it was sold to MacAlpine Aviation at Luton
                                           where it became G-BAXI.    It was later re-register G-BAXL and then G-OBOB when acquired
                                           by Slender You (UK) Ltd.   It was destroyed when it crashed into a field 5 miles east of Columbia
                                           Regional Airport, Missouri whilst on a flight from Crossville, TN to Kansas City, Mo. Both engines
                                           flamed out and it was suspected that fuel contamination was the probably cause, along with a block-
                                           age of the fuel filters due to icing.
