VH-CMO  Cessna 185A Skywagon                  (c/n  185-0422)

                                      

                                           Unfortunately the white wing top of this Ansett-MAL Skywagon has merged with the white
                                           sky above Madang on this day in 1966 when the above shot, from the Fred Niven collection,
                                           was taken.  VH-CMO was imported (ex N1622Z) in July 1962 as part of the Light Aircraft
                                           Division and was used in 'up country' Papua New Guinea flights by the airline. It was sold off
                                           to STOL Air Services in September 1969 and damaged beyond repair shortly afterward at
                                           Efogi, PNG.    Alan Bovelt's shot below shows the Skywagon at Goroka in September 1966
                                           just after being repainted for STOL Air Services .
