VH-CJZ  Gardan GY-80 Horizon 180                        (c/n  215)

                               

                                   This Horizon came in with VH-EOL in 1968.  Another Horizon (VH-KJC) had been registered
                                   to Kingsford Smith Aviation earlier in May 1967.  So far as I know these were the only three on
                                   the Australian civil register.   VH-CJZ was ferried from France under the rego F-OCLI.  The
                                   two shots on this page are by Geoff Goodall.  By the time the one above was taken at Jandakot in
                                   June of 1970, the aircraft was owned by Southern Cross Aviation.   The image below shows it in
                                   1968 as F-OCLI just after it arrived.    VH-CJZ was damaged 115 miles SE of Carnarvon, WA
                                   on 15 June 1971.  It was salvaged and is now part of the RAAFA Aviation Heritage Museum of
                                   WA at Bull Creek collection and named "Sugar Bird Lady".
