                                      Nice Qantas shot of a Sandringham at Rose Bay in the early 1950s.  .This flying boat was a R.A.F
                                      Sunderland Mk V, serial  NJ255.   It was converted to Sandringham IV standard by Shorts Bros
                                     and Harland in 1946 and transferred to the U.K. Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.   It was
                                     then leased to Tasman Empire Airlines as ZK-AMD.   It then passed to T.E.A.L. as 'RMA Australia'.
                                     Qantas acquired it in 1950 and it was put on the Sydney - Lord Howe Island route.  It went to Ansett
                                     Airways Pty Ltd in 1954 to replace VH-BRD and was re-registered VH-BRE.   As such it was lost
                                     in a storm whilst at anchor at Lord Howe Island in July 1963.
