VH-EAB (3)  Boeing 707-338C                            (c/n  19622)

                                    

                                         Built in November 1967 on the production line immediately adjacent to its stable mate VH-EAA
                                         the third, VH-EAB was originally named "City of Canberra".  This was changed to "Winton"
                                         in August 1971, as the close-up below by Greg Banfield taken on the same day as the full shot
                                         above, at Mascot in May 1977, shows.    Later, in November of  that year it was bedecked in
                                         "Have a Qantastic Christmas" cabin top titling, and was never to be repainted in full standard
                                         Qantas livery again (see Greg's shot at the foot of the foot of the page), since on 27 December
                                         1977 it was sold to ITEL in Belgium as OO-YCL.   After many, many owners it eventually be-
                                         came a E-8C (P-1) with the USAF with serial 92-3289.      As such it was still active well into
                                         the new millennium.
