VH-BSC  DHC-2 Beaver 1                        (c/n  1617)

                                     

                                         These two photos of -BSC are from the Danny Tanner collection.    Daniel, now in the same age
                                         bracket as myself (80+) passed on his skills to his son, and the above shot was taken by David
                                         Tanner at Parafield in June 1984.  Danny's own shot, below, was also at Parafield, some years
                                         earlier in August 1979.     The Beaver was first registered in June of 1966, coming in through the
                                         distributors, Hawker de Havilland of Australia.       It spent many years with Benders Spreading
                                         Service Pty Ltd of Hobart, Tasmania, but, as the images show, spent much time on contracts out-
                                         side of Tassie.  Following a crash in 1990 it was restored and went to Walcha Aerial Services Pty
                                         Ltd of Walcha, NSW.      It crashed at Cooplacurripa Station 60 Km NW of Taree, NSW on
                                         19 December 1994.  Pilot Benjamin Salter, sadly, was killed.
