VH-BOW (3)  Piper  PA-32-260 Cherokee Six                         (c/n  32-260)

VH-BOW (3) was registered to Joseph Bowden, of Sydney, on December 23, 1968.  Bowden
was a renowned former flying doctor service pilot.   The aircraft was sold to John Macknight, of
Deniliquin, about the time David Carter photographed it at Mascot (above) in 1969.  It was used
on regular services between Deniliquin and Wagga, where passengers transferred to the Ansett
Fokker Friendship service to Sydney.    Initially it was a joint venture with Bill Davey, of Dubbo,
and operated as Davey Air Services – Deniliquin.    However, it was not long before Macknight
bought out his partner and changed the name to Macknight Airlines.   The Cherokee Six was re-
placed by a twin-engine Seneca in 1974.  It is currently registered to an owner in rural Dartmoor,
