VH-BGP
(2) de Havilland D.H.89B Dragon Rapide
(c/n 6648)
Lovely shot above by Geoff Goodall taken at the 1975
Berwick, Victoria Air Show. This aircraft
had just been imported from
New Zealand when it had been registered ZK-BCP. It later became
part of the ill-fated Wangaratta Airworld Museum
where Ken Tilley took the shot immediately below
in the
mid 1980s. VH-BGP is now owned by Bruce Ivers who is having
it lovingly
restored (as a
long term project) at
Croydon Aircraft Co at Mandeville, near Gore on New
Zealand's South Island.
Despite its rather pristine look in the museum
shot, recent closer inspection showed it to have wood-
work and bonding
problems requiring
expert renovation if it is to be used to fly sightseeing tours over
the
Perth area, which is Bruce's
ultimate goal.
