VH-AFD Auster J/2
Arrow (c/n 2386)

The third VH-AFD
was an Auster Archer, seen here at Bankstown in 1955. This
machine was
originally built as
OO-AXE and shipped to Belgium. It was sold in the U.K. in 1951 as G-AJXZ
and arrived in
Australia in May of 1952. Geoff Goodall (below) saw it at a
country fly-in at Bruce
Rock, WA in 1976 by which time it had a decidely "un-Auster-like"
livery. It was still flying into
the 1990s.
