VH-AEY  Douglas DC-3CS1C3G                                         (c/n  9815)

                                    


                                        VH-AEY operated the first TAA service in November 1946 when it was named  'McMillan'    
                                        This was later changed to 'Wentworth'.       By the time Neil Follet's shot (above) was taken
                                        at Essendon in 1961, -AEY had been relegated to freighter service.    It was still a passenger
                                        machine when I took my own (rather poor) shot below in 1955.  I was going to clone out the
                                        fire extinguisher, but decided it lent a bit of nostalgia to the shot!  This DFC-3 was sold to the
                                        Royal Netherlands Air Force in 1962 as X-19.
