VH-TLA "John
Eyre"
c/n 1061
These photos show three
variations of a theme. (i) Above, circa 1967 at Essendon,
from the Peter
Gates
Collection. (The
Morris Minor van would be worth a bob or two
today). (ii) immediately
below,
also from Peter's collection, a Lockheed Aircraft Corp photo-op shot of
-TLA in the short-
lived original livery, soon
the be replaced with "TAA The Nation's Jetline". titling and
(iii) at the foot
of the page from the archives of
the Civil Aviation Historical Society of SA (via Nigel Daw) an image
of -TLA at
Adelaide , circa 1962 with the ghastly day-glo orange tail.
It remained with TAA until
1972, going then to Royal
Air Lao as XW-PKA, basically for spare parts to keep XW-PKB running.
It
was scrapped at Seletar, Singapore in late 1975.
