VH-SBT  DHC-3 Otter                                                (c/n 258)

Now here's a lovely shot.  Taken by Geoff Goodall outside de Havilland Australia's facility at
Bankstown in July of 1967.  The aircraft had just returned from almost a decade of service in
the Territory of Papua and New Guinea (as it was then).  It had originally been delivered to
Qantas as VH-EAZ in 1958.  It was one of four similar aircraft acquired by TAA when that
carrier took over Qantas' internal PNG services in 1960 dubbing them "Sunbird" at that time.
Geoff saw it again at Parafield a few months later (below) with all vestiges of its previous
owner removed.  It eventually went to Air West in Vancouver as CF-XRI.  Later still it was
converted to a Turbine-Otter and is, I believe still current with Osprey Wings Ltd of La Ronge,
                                       Saskatchewan (as C-FXRI).
